Retail Solutions, LLC
Paul McFarren is the Managing Partner for Simply Retail Solutions, LLC, a
point-of-sale software company located in New Jersey. Mr. McFarren, who is one of
the original founders of the company, has extensive experience in the specialty
retail space.
In addition to managing Information Technology organizations for almost 20
years, he has directly managed many of the operational departments in a typical
retail organization and has developed a specialty in contract negotiations which
includes many typical information systems contracts, but also includes
advertising, direct marketing, telecommunications, hosting and outsourcing
contracts.
A frequent speaker at business strategy conferences, Mr. McFarren’s background
includes extensive business process re-engineering at a global level in the systems
area, including; Store POS, Supply Chain, Financials, Human Resources,
Marketing and Real Estate. He has also heavily participated in a number of
merger and acquisition efforts at various companies.
Most recently, he was the Senior Vice President/CIO for United Retail Group,
Inc., a $400M specialty apparel company with 500 store locations. In addition to
the Management Information System organization he was responsible for the
company’s Customer Relationship Management operation, management of Sarbanes-Oxley compliance and design and implementation of a customer direct
(e-commerce, catalog and call center) fulfillment operation from the ground up.
Prior to this, Mr. McFarren ran the worldwide Information Technology organization for LVMH-SDG. In this capacity, he was responsible for
Information Technology operations in eight regions spanning over a dozen
countries. He also spent six years with Gap, Inc and six years with Andersen
Consulting in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Paul graduated from Cornell University in 1986 with a Bachelor of Science degree
in Operations Research and Industrial Engineering.
