CSSi NEXT GENERATION 2007: ANNUAL STRATEGY SESSION 27 SEP’06- 29 SEP’06
CSSi annual strategy session for 2007 was held in MN over a three day period, between 27th September and 29th September of 2006. The CSSi team came from different parts of US and global locations for our annual strategy session.
While planning sessions could be long with number crunching and numerous presentations. … The 3 day annual strategy session was packed with fast pace, directional updates and interactive sessions sprinkled with plenty of fun, team-building and creativity.
Icebreaker : It was quite the experience hitting the gas pedal while your go-kart screeched with burnt rubber going around the curve? We kicked off the Strategy session with a Go-Karting event that showcased good-natured competitive spirit in the pit! There were plenty of laughs and fun while speeding and bumping go- karts tried to inch for the top spot. This was a great ice-breaker as we got better acquainted over speeding go-karts and pizza. The camaderie carried over to the first day of the strategy session.
Srinivas, our founder and Chairman, opened the session with an inspiring vision and direction for CSSi Next Generation. He asked us to leverage a great track record to build out the Next Generation with focus on business solutions with customer at the center of our solutions and business.
Rohit, our COO and the leader of the Next Generation set the fun…oops, set the stage and emphasized the importance of our companies’ culture and focus to get to our goal as the Next Generation. He spoke to the 5C’s as our strategic pillars for the Next Generation -Creativity, Customer Satisfaction, Competence, Collaboration, and Concentration. Rohit emphasized fun at work, sense of ownership and team work are key ingredients to build out CSSi Next Generation supported by the 5Cs pillar.
Our partners were also participants at our annual planning session setting direction for our strategic alliances and partnership. Our planning session had already set the tone and the spirit for the 2007 direction and beyond.
Egg Breaker Activity : We started the first day with go-karts as an icebreaker. Day 2 found our creativity and resourcefulness tested an egg breaker!!! Needless to say, we saw innovative designs that ranged from egg parachutes to grand-mother’s tale based solutions used to drop an egg from 8 ft and remain intact. There was friendly banter, obvious team spirit and collaboration in the egg-breaker activity. We closed the day on a fun-filled note with a cocktail party at Rohit’s place.
The last day of our sessions covered the 2007 strategy and roadmaps for marketing, branding, practice and finance. We ended the work session with an eye-opener workshop session around a case study with role-playing. We ended our annual strategy session with dinner at the Mall of America.
Apart from outlining our goals for next year, this session was a great opportunity for team-building, get aligned with mutual objectives and march towards 2010. Reinvigorated, our motivated and confident team left MN on a positive note with new found partners focused on mutual goals.
